Duodata is built on four fundamental concepts that form the metrics ontology. Each concept is designed to be simple individually but powerful in combination.

• Metrics: The numbers you measure (source metrics and derived metrics)
• Slices: The dimensions you measure "per" (with roll-up hierarchies)
• Reports: Groupings of metrics and slices (data products)
• Sources: Where the data originates (systems of record)
