    Sources

Sources are the bridge from conceptual definitions to company reality. They represent the systems of record where data originates.

    Why sources are not implementation

Sources anchor metrics and slices to the company's data landscape without prescribing table or column commitments. A source is "order management system" or "billing platform" — not a specific database table.

How sources relate to metrics and slices

Metrics and slices typically have one source. Sources are set from the metric/slice, not edited as an additive relationship from the source side.
